Maria Lisella's work appears in Amore on Hope Street (Finishing Line Press) and Two Naked Feet (Poets Wear Prada). Her poetry has appeared in many literary journals in print and online including Fox Chase Review, Liqueur 44 (France), New Verse News, The New York Quarterly, The Paterson Literary Review, and Skidrow Penthouse.
She is the co-curator for the Italian American Writers Association readings at Cornelia St. Café and Sidewalk Café. She lives in Long Island City with her husband Gil Fagiani, a poet, translator and writer.
Lisella is a writer and editor covering the travel industry and Europe for more than 20 years. Born in Queens, New York, she graduated from The City Univeristy of New York’s Queensborough Community College, Queens College, and holds an M.A. in Specialized Journalism from NYU-Polytechnic University. She has taught non-fiction writing, and currently teaches a course in Tourism and Hospitality at the Borough of Manhattan Community College.
Her travel writing appears online and in print in a wide array of publications including FOXNews.com, AFAR, Travel and Leisure, the New York Daily News, Star Ledger, and others. She has been recognized for her work on Italy, South Africa, and France.
